Livedocs makes it simple to collaborate with your team and share work with the world. You can share at two levels: workspace and document.
1. Sharing Access at a Workspace Level
To manage workspace access:
- Go to the workspace home.
- Click on the workspace icon.
- Select Invite members.
- Invite members by email.
Roles
- Admin
Can view and edit docs, invite members, and manage billing details. - Editor
Can view and edit docs, and invite members. - Viewer
Can only view docs.
📧 Members will receive an email invitation and will see the new workspace immediately once added.
2. Sharing Access at a Document Level
Each document has its own sharing settings. In the doc editor, click the Share button.
General Access Settings
- Collaborators
Only the specific invited collaborators (from above) can view or edit, based on their role. - Workspace Members
Anyone in the workspace can view or edit, depending on their role. - Anyone with the Link
The doc is public. Both the app and notebook become visible to the world.
Inviting by Email
You can also invite people directly by email:
- Can View – read-only access.
- Can Edit – edit access.
- Full Access – invites them to the workspace with the appropriate role.
People outside your workspace will be added as viewers unless given full access.
Embedding Docs and Apps
Livedocs allows embedding docs on other sites and platforms.
-
Apps
Interactive versions of your doc. Cells run when users interact with inputs, and tables can be paginated. Apps remain unchanged until you publish them again. -
Static View
A non-interactive, read-only version. Inputs are disabled, collapsed cells are hidden, and only source + result cells are shown.
This flexible sharing system allows you to collaborate privately inside your team or showcase your work to the world.
